It's also considered good practice to provide image descriptions for our blind and vision impaired friend (or those with poor internet connections) so they can still experience the full breadth of what you post.
Some more tips for starting on Mastodon:
When making a new toot there's an option to put a "cw" (content warning). It's considered good practice on the fediverse to put commonly triggering or sensitive material (or even just spoilers!) under a cw so that people who might need to skip something for their own health can easily do that.
